Short on cash? Legitimate rewards programs online to get gift cards, free items, and more

One of the best things I have discovered since beginning my journey to save money about a year ago, is participating in programs where I have the opportunity to earn free items or points to turn in for discounts and extra money.  There are so many "Get paid to surf the web"  sites out there and most are just scams or extremely complicated. However, there are a couple legit and really good ones, and with the holidays coming up its the perfect time to start using them to get a couple of cheap or free gifts

MyView- MyView is my absolute favorite of all these programs.  You take surveys to earn points, and then the points can then be redeems for gifts cards.  Some of these are the virtual ones, but alot are physical cards you will recieve in the mail.  I've already recieved a $25 Sears and a $25 ITunes gift card and am this close to getting another gift card that I plan on using for a christmas gift.  The number of surveys you'll qualify for and the points you'll get will vary, but one thing I really like about MyView is that even if its deemed you don't qualify for a particular survey, you still will get 150 points.  Its definitely the one I recommend for ease of use and frequency of rewards

SwagBucks - Another loyalty program where you can earn free stuff including 1,000's of products for doing the things you do everyday, like doing searches on the internet, participating in polls and surveys, and even redeeming coupons at the grocery store (they are linked to coupons.com and each time you redeem a coupon in the store you get points).  The offer gift cards to places like Amazon and Bed Bath and Beyond, and also sweepstakes to enter to win football tickets, iPads, etc.  Currently you can get 110 points to start when you sign up for a new account and use the code SBPAYSFORME.  *There will be a tab on the main page of 30 and thrifty in VA for codes to enter for extra points as I become aware of them*, so check here frequently (or better yet, subscribe!) to be notified as they become available

Synovate - Synovate (or Global Opinion Panels) is another survey site that I use.  This one pays out cash (and they are apparently getting ready to launch retail vouchers) when you redeem your points.  In addition to surveys they often are looking for people to try new products and give reviews for them ( I was recently selected to be a tester for one, which is definitely fun!)  Its seems to have less survey's than MyView, and thus takes longer to get a reward, but the nice thing is that they email you when there is a survey you qualify for (they prescreen) , so you dont have to monitor the site daily

Pampers Gifts to Grow - If you have a new baby or are expecting soon, you definitely want to sign up for  a Pampers Gifts to Grow accountEven if there arent any little ones in your life at the moment, its still a good program .  Points can be redeemed not only for diapers and other baby related products, but also items such as starbucks gift cards  *There will be a tab on the main page of 30 and thrifty in VA for codes to enter for extra points as I become aware of them*, so check here frequently (or better yet, subscribe!) to be notified as they become available

UPromise.com - People tend to forget about this program, but one of my favorite things about it IS that you can set it up and forget about it.  Link your credit cards to your account or shop online at major retailers to earn a percentage back to your UPromise account.  You can save for your childs college tuition, link to your own Sallie Mae loans, or simply request a check in the mail once your savings reaches a certain point. Sign up for their prefered diners option and earn even more each time you go out to eat at one of the participating restaurants (quite a few in Ghent and Virginia beach).  Not to mention you can get a upromise card and link coupons to it for Farm Fresh and other places (CVS, Walgreens) and save even more
